The 2nd European & Asia Integration Meeting, hosted by the International Consulting Group in Madrid, brought together professionals from Europe, Asia and Latin America to reflect on today’s global challenges and explore joint solutions in legal, tax and business consultancy.

CPO & Partners contributed with updates on current initiatives in China, including business missions, industrial park partnerships and cross-border investment strategies—demonstrating once again the relevance of building strong, practical bridges between distant markets.

CPO Visits Jiaxing with Lawyer Moschetti

On 17 June 2025, representatives of CPO visited several industrial parks in the city of Jiaxing, not far from Shanghai, alongside Lawyer Giovanni Moschetti, partner of Law Firm Francesco Moschetti, tax, criminal tax and international tax experts, located in Padova (Italy) for more than 50 years.

The day began with a visit to the Pinghu Economic and Technological Development Zone, an industrial park located in the county-level city of Pinghu, part of Jiaxing City in China’s Zhejiang Province. In the afternoon, the delegation moved to Nanhu District, where it held meetings with local government officials from Nanhu District. Discussions focused on cultural exchanges between Italy and China and the incentives the parks can offer to Italian entrepreneurs interested in investing in China.

The presence of Lawyer Moschetti, a professional with over 20 years of experience in tax and legal fields, underscores the growing interest in better understanding China’s landscape and the potential opportunities, both cultural and economic, that can arise from such exchanges.

Future plans are already underway, including delegations of Italian entrepreneurs visiting the toured Parks and cooperation between the two countries to explore and leverage opportunities for economic and cultural exchange.

Award to CPO for Italy-China Cooperation

CPO & Partners has been honored with another prestigious award, following the recent recognition received from Jiaxing Nanhu District. During the ‘Invest in Shanghai – Share the Future’ event held on 10 April in Milan, organized by the Lingang New Area Industrial Park located in Shanghai to promote foreign investments in the Park, CPO was awarded along with other entities as a ‘Bridge for Italy-China Cooperation’.

The recognition acknowledges CPO’s networking activities aimed at introducing Chinese industrial parks to potential foreign investors, serving as a connection bridge and support channel between Italian businesses and Chinese development zones.

CPO & Partners was honored to participate as a guest at the 2025 Jiangsu Nantong Su-Xi-Tong Science & Technology Park Investment Promoting Conference in Shanghai.

CPO & Partners was awarded the Nanhu District of Jiaxing, Excellent Partner

Last 10 January 2025, a delegation of CPO Shanghai was invited to visit the complex of the People’s Government of Jiaxing City’s Nanhu District, to attend the 2025 Nanhu District Investment Promotion Conference and receive the award of Excellent Partner. On the occasion, at the presence of the authorities representing the District, Mr. Chen Fangtian, Legal Associate, representing CPO, retrieved the award of Excellent Partner, in recognition of the networking activities organized as an investment promotion ambassador of Nanhu District in China and abroad. Last year, CPO and its Joint Venture Dragon Bridge Investment cooperated with representatives from Nanhu to facilitate the introduction of the District as an ideal hub for foreign investors in China.

In particular, CPO was among the sponsors of the event “Destination Yangtze River Delta: Meeting with Jiaxing, Nanhu District”, held in Milan, Palazzo Clerici, on 5 September 2024 with more than 80 participants whose most part were renowned and excellent Italian SMEs, while both CPO and Dragon Bridge Investment sponsored the event “Shanghai and Jiaxing: A New Opportunity”, activity organized in the context of the November 2024 CIIE (China International Import Expo).

This award brings forth a new year sets to build on past achievements and make further progress in the bilateral investment promotion between Italy and China.

Yesterday, 6 November, the meeting “Shanghai and Jiaxing: a New Opportunity” was held as part of the CIIE currently underway in Shanghai at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, a new opportunity for exchange and dialogue between entities linked by common views.

Sponsored by Nanhu District, located in the Chinese city of Jiaxing, China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, Dragon Bridge Investment, and CPO, the event saw the participation, in addition to representatives of the sponsors, of some representatives of Italian companies present in China. The theme of the meeting, a follow-up to the event held last 5 September in Milan with the participation of a delegation from Jiaxing, was the presentation of Nanhu District as an ideal investment hub for foreign players seeking a strategic positioning within the Chinese market.

The establishment of the joint venture榫桥卯梁Sun Qiao Mao Liang, born from the partnership between CPO & Partners and local experts, brings forward a new entity that has the purpose of incentivizing business connections between China and Europe, by creating a solid bridge between these two realities.

The name chosen for this new project is a statement in itself on the beliefs that guide such partnership. The four Chinese characters are actually the merge of two distinct words: 榫卯 and 桥梁. The second, qiaoliang, means bridge, symbolizing the channel that the joint venture aims to create between the Chinese and European business worlds. The first, sunmao, a mortise and tenon joint, bears a richer cultural significance which delves deep into Chinese history. Sunmao was a structural method employed in ancient Chinese architecture and furniture characterized by the combination of a concave and a convex part without using any nails. Its peculiarity lies not only in its ingenuity, but especially in the need for a perfect fit between each component. It is this very fit that gives solidity and durability to the whole structure, as demonstrated by the Forbidden City, a precious example of this method that clearly stands the test of time.

It is under this spirit that Sun Qiao Mao Liang is going to operate: establishing a perfect and lasting fit between Chinese and Foreign actors, to create a stable bridge between China and Europe, a connection based on solid ground and capable of resisting the challenge of time.

To introduce this new joint venture, an event sponsored by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, Banca Intesa Sanpaolo, Cpo & Partners and Jiashan Hangqike Industrial Park Management Co., Ltd. [check name], will be held on 15^th March in Suzhou, during which an overview of the current and future business relations between China and Italy will be presented.

On January 26th, CPO & Partners had the privilege of engaging in a series of productive meetings with government officials in Jiaxing, China. The discussions centered on the diverse investment opportunities available in the region, highlighting Jiaxing’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment in Jiaxing for international business collaborations.

The visit was further enriched by an immersive experience in Science City, a hub of innovation and technology that exemplifies the forward-thinking ethos of Jiaxing. Additionally, we had the opportunity to visit CEBI, a renowned company in the automotive sector, which stands as a testament to the robust industrial capabilities and business-friendly policies in place.

These encounters underline the potential for fruitful partnerships and investments in Jiaxing, reinforcing CPO & Partners’ commitment to facilitating cross-border connections with industrial parks, with the project for year 2024 to create an investment platform for foreign companies that could be guided in the difficult interpretation of rules and choice of the most proper location for their investments.
